vizio soundbar not making a sound

I connected my Vizio vsb200 sound bar to my tv (dont have optical audio) and chose the proper input. I'm using my tv as a monitor for a computer connected via HDMI and have the tv set as default for the sound already. Sound doesn't work through the sound bar only through the tv speakers.

this is the tv, i connected it through red and white wires

The red and white are inputs in the TV, not output. You would have to use headphone, so 3.5mm to RCA

There were instruction how to do it with HDMI. It was not easy thou.
