VLC won't play all my videos

Oops, I forgot to add that they are MP4

MP4 is just a "container" format, the content inside it is not forced to be video, it could just be still images or even just an audio track with no video.

Don't assume that all MP4 files are video files.

Well, these are video files. Would converting them into another type of VLC compatible file help?
