Volume problem

as i have blown my home theatre up i have wired my speakers up to a headphone jack and plugged it into my laptop and there not really loud i want them to be louder how would i do this ?

What speakers do you have? It might be that they are not powered type, in which case your laptop's output is unable to power them well enough to get good volume. In this case you'll have to get some kind of an amp for your speakers.
