VPN and NAT?

I am trying to connect to my company's VPN network, and my connection gets
disconnected. Our network expert thinks this is due to NAT, as he had to
install some patch to handle NAT to all participating client PCs, and (in
his opinion) it is likely that my PocketPC doesn't have this.

Does anyone know how PPC 2003 handles NAT? Any software that might be
downloaded?

What type of vpn connection are yo umaking PPTP or L2TP? PPTP works fine
with nat, L2TP only works with nat when the L2TP server is running Windows
Server 2003.

In additon, NAT issues are typically addressed by configuring the NAT
device (your cable modem router???) to "port forward" spcific ports to
the device or computer's ip address that needs the specific connection.

....which also means that the router has to be configured to assure that
the target ip address is always assigned to that device's mac address.

Check your router's configuration utility for more info.

You don't need anything on your PPC or PC. You only need a router that
supports GRE. That allows the VPN traffic to find the server.
