the 5730 is more powerfull than the 425m even the 5650 is more powerfull than the 425m. difference between them will be a good 10fps difference. usually when the 425m is put in a laptop it usually has optimus so if battery life is what you want i say go for the optimus. The acer 4820tg can be found in microcenter for $700 comes with the i5-460m and 5650. its literally in the middle of both for $700 the refreshed one comes with i5-480m and 6550 (refreshed card) for $800 its a 14inch dont know if you mind.

I'd suggest one laptop computer that I think will work for you. It is the HP Pavilion dv6T Select Edition for $749. This is a great computer, and one hell of a machine! It even has blu-ray.
Here are some specs:
Screen
15.6" VGA (1366x768) HD
Processor
2.53 GHz Intel® Core™ i5-460M Dual Core Processor
RAM

Yes of course!! i should be able to play the recent games at the highest possible settings.
Finding a good gaming laptop within that price range will be near impossible I'm afraid. I know you don't want to just buy a laptop because you've got money and not being able to play your games on it, so I honestly think the best choice for you is to save a few more money until you get about $2000-$2500 USD. Then you should be able to find a laptop that will suit your gamer needs. I know money is hard to earn but gaming laptops just aren't cheap. If you really are serious about gaming then I suggest you build a desktop computer yourself, within your budget you can get a nice rig together.

However if you need a laptop, then if the Lenovo WR2 posted is available in India then it may be an option for you, however be warned that it will not play all recent games on High, but somewhere between Low and Medium.

The XPS15 may be good for you, just be sure not to pick one that has an integrated video card, because it won't play any games satisfactorily. As a rule of thumb, if you can't see the brands Nvidia or ATI on the video card name, don't buy that laptop (unless you want a netbook for browsing of course which is not what you want).

already checked out....but does the position of the graphic cards reflect the truth??
does it mean that the ati radeon hd 5730(that comes with the lenovo y560 ) which is placed above the nvidia geforce 425m, more powerful..

also...since the configs stated above hve almost the same processor ram and hdds, will the radeon
5730 nd the gt 425 perform at the same level? or will i get an evident peformance difference?

please have the patience to answer
thanks in advance!!

No dice on a refurb, I can understand your position.

But as a heads up, for your price range, to get the gaming laptop I think you're expecting, you'll need to consider the refurb route. I spent well over a month, hours a day, looking at everything from Lenovo to Acer to Sager to HP and none of those damn companies provide good GPU cards for gaming at that price. We as consumers are still getting screwed with 5650's and GT's.

I was to the point where I almost pulled the trigger on an Acer w/i5 and a 5650 for $544. (As a midtier rig that deal was phenomenal in retrospect.)

If I were you, from what I learned in my research, give a shot at trying to find an ASUS deal. It's direct from the manufacturer and in a lot of cases it looks like you can upgrade components a tad easier. (Minus CPU and GPU of course.)

Hell, try and find the G73jh-RBBX05 new. I'm pretty sure it's near your upper budget limit, but it also gives you some crazy specs for the price. Only downside is the RBBX is 1600x900 res and not Sandy Bridge chipped.
