Watch movies in tv from mpeg4 decoder is good solution?

Well i found a way to watch movies in my tv. My tv do not support more than 1 hdmi input so i try to use my mpeg4 decoder. I surpisly see that i can watch my video files from my usb stick in to my tv from mpeg4 usb input but i have questions.
Sometimes my usb stick it gets too hot is that safe to use it or i should change to hard disk?
I can watch movies with that way or the decoder is gonna damaged or something from my usb stick when it gets too hot?

If the USB stick overheated enough to damage itself it shouldn't cause damage to anything else. If it bothers you get a better quality UBS stick with a metal body which would dissipate heat better than plastic. If you want to store your movies then a USB drive will give you more capacity.
