I'm needing information on what it takes to watch video from my PC on my TV.

We're looking at getting a new flatscreen HDTV. We have Directv for signal but we are thinking about trying out NETFLIX and the have a download service, I guess. If we have that option, IO wouldn't want to watch it on my PC but somehow get it to my TV.

MY PC is a pretty basic HP Pavilion a1410Y (2gb DDR, 120 gb HDD, DVD player, CD/RW, networked. with another Desktop and 2 wireless laptops.

We aren't sure what TV we're looking at except it will be 47-55" $1000-2000 range.

What type of TV, card or USB suggestions do you have?

I also have a Hughes SD- DVR 40 Dtv receiver that has a USB or E-net port that I was thinking about hooking in. II think I will have to go someplace like weaknees to upgrade the software and HDD so it will be able to be hooked up to my network.

Does anyone have any insight about upgrades to the DVR?

THanks,

Byrd

Chances are, a flatscreen will have a VGA-in connector so you could simply hook it up as a secondary monitor assuming you have a capable graphics card... Or DVI->HDMI tends to work most of the time as well...
