Ways to use hdmi for audio

A little while ago, my dad let me have one of his PC monitors that he is not using. I used to play my xbox on (I didn't have a very good screen), but what i didnt know is it didnt have a built in sound system, so i was wondering if there was a set of speakers that used hdmi, or if you can converter the hdmi into something the speaker can use, like a audio jack.

Surely there is an audio output on the xbox that you can connect to any pc speakers.
