Solved! We have an old 5.1 Surround Sound DVD Player with speaker wire connections which has died.

It's stopped working and we need to buy a new one, but can't find one with speaker wire connector clips. Is there a way to convert the speaker wires so that they have plugs that we can plug into a new DVD player connections and still use the Surround Sound?

The speaker wire is built into the room, so not easy to remove and replace with anything else.

Thanks

Sure, speaker wires are speaker wires, just two wires, you can stick them on whatever connector type you want.
It may help to know what the "plugs" are that you need, there are several for speaker connections. You can simply look up whatever connector you need online, buy that connector and stick it on the bare wire.

Just keep in mind you can't just use a DVD player with the speakers, you need an amp unless the speakers are powered.
