So ive spent a good hour researching this topic, and while there are many Black screen issues, none really match what I've been experiencing

Asus Zenbook Flip 15"
Specs:
Intel i7-8550u
16GB Ram
Nvidia GTX-1050 2GB
Windows 10 April Update (build 1803 i think)

The symptoms are identical every time it happens. Here are the steps:
1. Use laptop
2. Laptop is fine as long as I use it.
3. Laptop has a power mode that never lets it sleep, hibernate when plugged in.
4. Laptop harddrives are never allowed to be turned off when plugged in.
5. Close Laptop lid
6. Laptop running fine for random amount of time greater than 15 minutes.
Note: Ive seen it be fine an hour after and not be fine after 30 minutes. There doesnt seem to be a set time.
7. Open laptop lid to start using it.
8. Laptop screen is all black, shinning light onto it shows its not on at all. Power indicator is ON.
Note: Teamviewer is installed and indicates that the laptop is OFF during this stage.
Windows as far as I can tell is NOT running.
9. Laptop is overheating, the CPU and GPU have very apparently continued running at 100%
NOTE It is so hot that it almost hurts to touch. It cools down once I restart the laptop and
actually use it.
10. Hold Power button for short period of time to shut down
11. Turn on with power button.
12. Laptop will run fine until the process starts over.

The laptop is very new, only a month or so old. I am worried that I may have some kind of nasty rootkit or something that boots me into a mode that is using my hardware resources for mining bitcoin or something else hardware intensive, hence the extreme heat.

I have run malware bytes and comodo I.S. and nothing was found at all in my machine though. Id be super appreciative if anyone had any ideas on how to figure out what is happening.

Ive tried looking through the windows event viewer for the system and there are errors like below:

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160}
and APPID
{9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE SID (S-1-5-19) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

I did try to plug an external monitor in, and nothing happens. No signal.

As far as I can tell, windows is somehow not running, yet my computer resources are being used.

I suppose I could reset windows and what not, but I have a lot of software installed Id like to not have to reinstall
