I have browsed every forum and cant find a solution for this stupid problem. So basically when I plug in my audio for my headset I hear an annoying buzzing sound, and when I plug in the microphone I can hear myself speak. This is doing my head in so please tell me a fix :)

Hi there,
I has the exact same issue as you an it can be a pain!
First go into Control panel
Then click "Hardware and Sound"
Next click "Sound"
Then go to "recording"
You should see a icon called "Rec. Playback"
Right click on it and click "Disable"

If that wasn't the problem there's a few other ways...
could you please post your computers specs so I can help you further

Nothing there, just microphone. My specs are:
Gigabyte 970A-DS3
AMD 7870 Gigabyte Edition
8gb Ram
AMD 6350 Processor

Since you are hearing yourself im guessing that means you are listening to the feedback from the device then,
follow these steps:
First go into Control panel
Then click "Hardware and Sound"
Next click "Sound"
Then go to "recording"
(Like before)
And this time right click on the microphone icon
and click "properties"
Then go to "listen"
If "Listen to this device" is ticked untick it and that should do the job

It was unchecked, the issue persists

This seems to be abit of a bigger issue than I first thought.
Try redownloading the drivers for "Gigabyte 970A-DS3" You can get them here: http://ee.gigabyte.com/products/page/mb/ga-970a-ds3rev_10/download/
Select "Driver" and your OS and reinstall that...
If that doesn't work we may have to go inside your computer if your comfortable with that.

Sounds fun, I'll start installing the drivers

the driver downloader didnt do anything, it looked like it just did some stuff then it closed down

I have no words. Plug it in the front pc case. I am oficially an idiot. Case closed you sir, are a genius
