Well what does it mean when please restart system?

Well my laptop said no bootable device and also please restart system.

this means it's not reading your hdd and wants you to connect something and then reboot so it can use it.

have you done anything new to the computer lately? added anything, removed anything? changed anything?

Well I try to reset it and that's it. Well what do I do?

was it working recently? any troubles in the past? has it been moved or opened lately? there are a lot of things that can go wrong.

check the easiest solution first and see if the hard drive is still hooked up. sometimes when moved a cable can come loose. rare but a good first step to check off the obvious.

Well, it kept freezing and slowing down.

it's possible the hdd has died. how old is the laptop? has it been making a lot of weird noises lately from the hdd? the freezes and such could have been a symptom of the drive failing.

can you remove the drive from the laptop and install it into another pc to see if it works.

i know it may seem like i'm guessing but without it sitting in front of me this is a good checkdown list of possible problems. i'm running down things i would do myself if i had it in front of me without the benefit of having it in front of me. the hdd is the obvious problem and needs to be checked first.

It's almost certain the HDD (or SSD) has died.

I can't think of another reason. The main laptop is functioning to the point it can't detect a drive so that doesn't leave much.

i agree with you which is why i'm focusing there. i just don't like to say "go buy a new hdd" before i'm totally sure and convinced myself that's what it is. just an old habit from working with people over the years who don't want a guess, buy, check method that does not fix it the first time.

of course here i have plenty of extra parts to check for myself before i declare a specific fix. working over the intertubes it's a little harder to be sure.
