Hi all,

I have been looking at some premium laptops (hp envy, macbook pro) however my knowledge on laptops is fairly limited.

I quite like the look of the Envy 14 which has a core i5 520 2.4 ghz processor 4 gb ddr3 ram and a 1gb 5650 mobility radeon screen res of 1600x900 at a price of £900

are there any other laptops of this spec and price range, or does anyone have other honourable mentions ?

I will use the laptop for some gaming (cod games, total war games)

but mainly for multimedia purposes such as photos, videos, music and movies (blu ray player would be preferable) as well as web browsing.

Thanks in advance

I'm also currently looking at getting a new multi-media laptop, though I am leaning a bit more towards gaming, but... I started out looking at the Envy 15, but after they dropped the i7's, I started looking around. I would strongly suggest you look at the Lenovo Ideapad Y560. I've never bought a lenovo before, but I seriously think it looks better than the Envy, and looks were one of my fav things about the envy.

Here is a link to one of the versions on Newegg, though Personally I would rather have the version with an i7 740 with bluray drive...

But as you'll notice it doesn't have a 1920x1080 res screen, so now i'm looking at MSI's GX660R... (newegg's images aren't that flattering for this one, but MSI's product shots are a lot clearer http://www.msimobile.com/level3_productpage.aspx?cid=6&id=255 and then click on the gallery) But that's a bit more of a gaming machine than I think you're looking for.
