What are the different wires in my headphones and what are their functions?

Hi, I've recently looked into repairing my frayed headphones by replacing the jack. After cutting the cable, I can't tell what the wires are. I have a green wire, red wire, copper wire, and a black wire. My question is, what are their functions? Thanks.

Hello... GJ... the wires colors are pretty standard...
1) copper is the noise shield for audio.
2) Black is common. (both speakers ground)
3) red is right (or left)
4) green is left (or right)

Yes I'm planning on having a friend help me with it. Another question, my headphones are a TRRS type, so where would the copper wire go?

So how and where should I connect the wires? For example should I solder the copper and ground wire together?

If a lot of 'HUM" disconnect, one side of the "shield" connection... Ok B /
