You should be able to run both side by side. Assuming you have Malware-bytes for free you're able to use both. Out of all the anti-viruses I've ever used I find ESET great, but Malware-bytes premium is very very good.
hi , i want to ask a question? can i use eset smart security 9 and malwarebytes both at same time?
Yes you can use them side by side. Malwarebytes isn't necessarily aimed at viruses. It looks for the bacteria, so to speak and doesn't get in Eset's way.
Also use something llike Ccleaner to keep less junk in your trunk, trim the fat from your Start-up menu, find duplicate files and it has more than a few other features which can benefit the informed user.
Task Manager is your friend.
Study it until you love it. Because not until you know it can you love it.
The same applies to Windows Services.
Taking an occasional look at your msconfig(aka system configuration) won't hurt.
Lastly
Having great security doesn't mean anything if the PC's internals are never cleaned
