what converter box to use

i got a pioneer receiver model number vsx-d409 and a vizio tv. I need to know what converter box model number and company that carries it to have surround sound . The tv has hdmi audio out put and I want to use the receiver for surround sound , So what converter box and cables do I need to have this to happen ?

We can't know what audio outputs your Vizio TV has without the model number.
Most likely it has an optical audio output that will connect to one of the optical audio inputs on the receiver.
No converter needed just a toslink optical cable, Check the TV and receiver manuals on how to use the optical connection. You may have to turn the optical out on, turn the TV speakers off, and set the audio to bitstream in the TV menu. You may have to assign the optical jack to an input on the receiver.
If you have to use the HDMI-ARC audio output on the TV then you will need something like this

There won't be any advantage to your using the above converter so use the optical if you can.
