Mark, et al, I have had a problem with DVA the last couple of days. I
can not get my tv guide to update from the web over my cable modem.
My Replay unit does not appear to be suffering from this problem, as
the program guide seems to operate normally. I don't even know what
information to post so that intelligent guesses can be made.
My replay is setup to take in direct TV Houston as its channel and
content supply.
As of right now my DV TV guide is blank. HELP!!!

Go to the "Messages" tab of DVA. Right click and select "clear". Go
back to "TV guide" and click update. Go to messages and see what's
there now. Does that help? Maybe posting the messages here would allow
someone to help.

Also, you can make sure the settings for the guide are the same as on
the Replay.

Mark, The replay and DVA are both set to direct TV, Houston.
The results of the message procedure is as follows:

04/15 20:40:43 Beginning download and update of TV Listings
04/15 20:40:47 ERROR: Error while updating TV Listings -- 503
04/15 20:40:47 TV Listings update complete

Still nothing there. Zone alarm is turned off.

Mine are DirecTV, Tyler/Longview as well as local cable (there's a
couple of channels that require basic cable).

I wish those error messages were better. Maybe www.dvarchive.org (or
one of the forums you can get tofrom there) has some information.

One possability is a corrupted "DVA TV.xml" file. Close DVArchive,
locate and delete this file, then restart DVA and setup your providers
again (maybe trying a different ZIP, there'll be plenty in Houston).
I've had to do that a couple of times.

Mark, BINGO!!! Deleting the past files and reinstalling, then
resetting it up did the trick.

I'm not sure what makes DVA mess up like that. Possibly, it has
something to do with channels being added to the lineup. Have you just
gotten new channels?

I haven't paid that much attention, but it does seem like I saw
channels on the list that I had not seen before.
