HP Compaq nc8430

2 main componants are
Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2500 2 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB
ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 (not sure of the vid ram though).

Does anyone know if the vid card would be upgradable?

I am 99% sure the card is not upgradeable in those machines.
A 7600 is not a better mobile GPU than an x1600:

Aye, the 7600 is a little slower, but the 7700 is faster than an ati x1600, especially the 7700 512mb in the a8js. Of course, this will vary from game to game in real FPS., but we're only talking benchmarks here go7700 specs
