Solved! What input cable should I use for connecting laptop to monitor?

My PC recently started having a lot of bluescreens (maybe my graphics card got a little old - GTX960 OC from 2016), so i started using my laptop (https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Legion-Y520-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B0785KPXC2) for gaming and stuff. When I connected it through hdmi I realized I can't reach 144hz, only 60 hz.
My question is what cable type runs 144hz from laptop to monitor?

If you have display port out on the laptop, that may do more than 60hz. If not, then you are limited to the HDMI spec on the laptop.
