What is happening to my sound?

After I restarded or deleted all my files on my computer I've heared these buzzing noices everytime I talk to my friend on skype. I can't hear what they're saying, only a buzzing sound, please help.

Is the buzzing only in Skype or in every application?

First, if every application, verify that your headphones/head set and/or speakers work elsewhere.

If just Skype, try the headphones/head set on another computer with Skype. Could be a Skype problem.

Second, check that all connections and cables on your computer are correct and solidly connected.

Reinstall Skype on your computer.

If that does not work, then go back and reinstall the sound drivers for your sound card and operating system.

Reconfigure sound settings and try again.
