I have a intel core i3-5020u with an integrated intel hd graphics 5500 I want to upgrade my screen and I wanted to know what is the maximum supported resolution of my gpu

Right click on the desktop and go to Graphics Properties, then Display and see what the max it allows is. Thats your max resolution. Most likely its 1920x1080

However, don't expect to run anything demanding at 4k. It will get choppy really quickly. Your GPU will barely be able to run 4k video at 60fps.

Thanks! Was that talking about the output such as HDMI because I was just wondering just if I could replace a 1366x768 screen with a HD 1920x1080 screen and if it would be supported.

I know that... I was wondering will my laptop support a 1920x1080 screen replacement. and what is my laptops screen connector pin count?
is it a 40 pin or a 20 pin?

as long as same physical size with the same 40 pin connector it should but does not mean it will.
