What is the Adventage of using Adobe Acrobat

In a simple word or two, with Adobe Acrobat files, you get uniform formatting when sharing documents. Sometimes MS Word might screw up the formatting for whatever reasons (e.g. different versions, etc). As far as I understand, any "Acrobat" version will allow you to create the PDFs as well as view them, while the free "Acrobat Reader" versions only allow you to view pdfs.

Which means that you have better document security, since not every secretary who thinks they see a typo can edit the document before emailing it out. Also, you get very small files for very large documents.
