i have laptop with hdmi port ,for what purpose they have given that hdmi port ,can i connect the normal 5.1 analog home theater with my laptop through hdmi port ,if can means how can we connect

The HDMI port is for attaching a separate monitor to your laptop. The monitor needs to have a HDMI port or a DVI port. To use the DVI port you would need a HDMI to DVI converter. For HDMI to HDMI you need a HDMI cable. Watch out if using a converter. The HDMI port is small and the DVI part of the converter can place a lot of leverage on the port.
