What is the use of Mains out on my yamaha emx 620

On my yamaha mixer amplifier emx 620, the "mains" output is affected by the general volume control: thank you for explaining how I can get the signal out of the mixer/amp toward another amp... I thougt the "mains" output was like a "line" outassoc.shakti@laposte.net

On a mixer, ALL the outputs are affected by the controls, there is no line out which is not affected by the volume control.
The Main out IS a line out. It can be plugged into an amp.

dear soundguruman, thank you so much for the quick reply. It helped me a lot.... I have another question though: How to plug my mixer into an acoustic guitar amplifier without "line in" input... I live in France where I teach ... Yoga. I am extremely ignorant as far as p. A system is concerned, and I am glad to get some light from a true guru.
