What Laptop should I choose?

I am looking for a gaming laptop under $1000, this will also be for school, so no i don't want a desktop,
so far i've been looking at 2 laptops:

Lenovo IdeaPad Y500

- Intel Core i5 3230M
- NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M SLI
- 1TB HDD
- 6GB Memory
- 1920 x 1080

and the

Lenovo IdeaPad y410p

- Intel Core i7-4700MQ
- GeForce GT755M GDDR5 2GB
- 1TB
- 8.0GB
- 1600x900

which one will be better for gaming? and is a 14" screen good for gaming/ a big difference between a 15.6" ? Thank you so much

Also please post any suggestions of other laptops.

Good choices, I always recommend Lenovo. For gaming, go with the SLI setup for sure. 14" is a little small, so go 15.6" if possible. I also like the 1080p on the Y500.

Man, these 2 laptops are actually pretty darn good. For gaming however, GT 650M SLI is better for gaming. Beats out the 755M pretty hard too.

The Mobile i5 CPU should still be pretty good enough for gaming.

However just be prepared to drain your battery a bit quicker.
