What level of Precision does Bitcoin use?

I know that the divisibility of one coin goes down to 10^-8, but I am more interesting in the mining algorithms. I am looking to build a new miner and I am trying to figure out whether I should go with a 2 Radeon 7870s or one 7970.
I know that the double precision Flop performance of the 7970 is about 4 times better than the 7870, while the single precision is just barely better, so this is important. Or I guess it is possible that I am completely wrong and they use some other data type altogether.

You can have a look here for some card related info. It seems that those cards are Rated on this page https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

I believe wattage is very important for bitcoin farming for your return of investment ratio. (http://tpbitcalc.appspot.com/)

You can easily see how much your rig is consuming by using something called kill-a-watt. I just sits between the power cord and your outlet letting you know how many watts are being consumed.

As of right now it is not hard to make a profit selling bitcoin, but if everyone was to mine and sell right away I am pretty sure the price of bitcoin would fall.
