Need to find out what other key you press on laptop to get@ on a laptop

Other than shift 2? Is that what you mean?

Depending on whether keyboard is set up for the US or the UK in Windows, it would be either
Shift + 2 or Shift + ' (apostrophe)

ALT + 2

You can use shift + 2 or right click the taskbar & enable the on screen keyboard.

If Shift+2 is too simple and boring, some machines I think you hit a key combo, then enter the 3-digits octo ASCII code for it, if you wanna go the Sheldon Cooper route.
