"AMD quad-core series" is a very general statement with a wide variety of CPUs. You should be more specific.

Make sure that, if you're looking at AMD processors, that you're looking at Ryzen.

Do NOT get anything AMD that is pre-Ryzen (FX, Phenom, Athlon, A6/A8/A10, etc - anything from the AM3/AM3+ sockets - these are much older designs). Put any and all thoughts about those completely out of your head.
