What should i buy?

So let me explain this, i am a college student and i got a budget around 2500$ to spend. But I can't really decide which one should I get between getting the MSI Gs30 Shadow or build my own gaming PC and buy a cheap ultra book laptop for work. I am not a hardcore gamer, I just one to play all those new game that are out on the market, but not in ultra setting just normal setting is fine. Or what else should i do plz suggest.

You can build a good, solid gaming rig AND buy a low-end gaming laptop for that budget. Don't pour all your eggs in the gaming laptop basket if you aren't a hardcore gamer.

like the guy above said, you could spend like $1000 on a desktop that could pretty much max everygame on ultra, and spend like 400-600 on a laptop that could do everything else, or even cheaper depending on your needs

I think i have decided that I will build a gaming desktop and buy a $500 ultrabook laptop for work.

But can you recommended me what build is good for $1000 and which ultrabook is good for 500$
