Majoring in business next year, freshman at uni, I have a PC, had it for a while, and I like to work on it, but I know that in classes I’ll need a laptop, I don’t know if I should opt for a Mac or windows laptop, for reference, I have a few apple devices, so I’ve heard if you already have an apple ecosystem it’s better to get a MacBook. I’d like some opinions; something light and fast, thank you in advance

Personally, I'm a bit of a technology bottom feeder, and have purchased any number of used machines. Apples last a long time, and you can use the included Apple office suite if you remember to export results in Microsoft format. I'm currently running a 2017 MacBook Air, which is very light and for which I paid $300 with a warranty. It does not have the problematic butteryfly keybooard, which you have to watch out for. There is currently a deal for an M1 MacBook Air online for $500 or so, which will offer longer support. I've also had very good luck with Dell corporate grade laptops from eBay. I run Linux on them, but they are readily available with whatever OS you want. Look for vendors with more than 100 units sold and positive ratings of over 97% or so. I'm still running a Latitude manufactured in 2010; I replaced the HDD with an SSD, but newer units already come so equipped.
