I need some help from some audiophiles... I've never owned a great pair of speakers. I have a beefy computer rig that I recently built, and now I want to top it off with some good sound equipment. I live in a dorm (9x11) so there is plenty of surface area for sound to bounce off of. I recently demod the bose companion 5 speakers at my local frys, and I loved them. The timing of the different frequencies to separate sound is a pretty sweet parlor trick imo.. Anyways I was set on getting a pair for about $200 refurbished , but reading reviews, many people seem to prefer the audio engine a5+ series more. They'd be around the same price. Then I came across the only pair of speakers ive seen to get a perfect review, the paradigm shift a2's. I've never heard of them until recently. But I'm aiming for a pair of speakers that I'll never really replace.. For a long while anyways. So.. Do the shift a2's really excel over bose and the a5's? What would you all go with. Any complete disregard for a brand I'll most likely just take you as ignorant and ignore your comment. Haha but please share!

The Paradigm Shift A2 are fantastic sounding speakers. The Bose and Audio Engine are not at the same level at all. They are cheaper though. If you cannot stretch to the A2 I would go with the A5+ rather than the Bose.
