Hello,
with the latest Facebook scandal in mind, and given the fact that the Whatsapp is it's parent company (and we know from the previous years' news that the two platforms are sharing metadata information), how do you guys view Whatsapp security and privacy?

Opinion - okay...

Do not use Facebook much at all other than to occasionally view photos posted by friends and family. [Full disclosure]

Scandal - no. Food fight over the monies, influence, and power to be had - yes. At all levels.

What do you think the mass media does with all the data they harvest when they beg us to view their websites and post our thoughts and opinions therein? Where do they store that data and what do they do with it?

Years ago the mass media did everything they could to tear down the internet and the access to information it provided to the people.

Now they are doing everything they can to get full control and then some. Will stop myself now to avoid too much infringement of the "No GRAPES" rule.

Treat anything you do on the web as if were public. And just about everything else as well. View: no privacy.

I view it exactly the same as facebook/instagram/twitter/snapchat/etc/etc...

Whatever you post there, or whatever other people post about you, is open for public viewing and data mining.
No difference at all.

Your "privacy settings" are absolutely meaningless in terms of what is stored in the database.
