When I log on my dell Inspiron the numbers on the right work for my pass word bu

When I log On my Dell Inspiron laptop with my password the numbers on the right will work to get me on but after I'm on the numbers on the right won't work. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Numbers on the right as in the number pad? Press the "number lock" button - it'll probably require the function (fn) button to be held along with another button.
