when i open laptop i can only see screensaver and nothing else

have u tried to restore it to earlier point???
have u tried last known gud configuration???
have u scanned for virus???

Hold in the power button for 10 seconds, once it's shut off, turn it on again. Does it lock up when you turn it back on?
