Solved! When i power on my toshiba laptop nothing happens

i have a toshiba laptop, and when i go to turn it on the blue power button lights up but that's it. the screen doesn't come on it's just black

Take the powercord out, then take the battery out. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then put the power cord back on, see if you get any display.
