when i start 3ds max 2015 this starts too

whenever i startup 3ds max 2015 a small, unnamed window opens at the same time, i don't know what it is or does

Is this a genuine, licensed and registered copy of 3ds?

This seems like the "default" icon for an application created with Visual Studio. What happens when you click / right-click on that icon?

I'm using the student edition of 3ds max, officially licensed by autodesk. I restarted Max to try to get the window to to reappear, but it didn't show.

thinking on it, it might be a program i installed to disable the Autodesk info center, but the info center still appears in Max, so i don't know why it would start at the same time, or even need to, as the program should only change some registry keys.
