When trading in your cell phone, should you delete all the information before handing it in, or should you trust the store?

Do your part first. First of all make sure you set a lock and encrypted your data. Most modern phones are encrypted once you locked the phone/screen with a password, pattern, or biometrics. Then reset to factory default.

depending on the type of info on the phone, some users will encrypt the phone, then reset to factory. Makes it a whole lot harder to recover deleted files.

most of the stores like google asks users to factory reset the device before handing them out. This policies are followed by many big companies however if they does not it is advisable to delete all your data especially apps and images.
