I am going to need 2 phones, I will use the verizon $100
discount for the one phone (new every 2), but should I buy the
other phone through verizon also? Can you get better deals
elsewhere? TIA

Depends on what phone you're looking for.

New? Used? Try eBay.

I would use a Verizon store regardless of cost. My local one fixed a
V720 past warranty for free and allowed me to return a phone after the
30 day policy. Best customer service I have every experienced with a
business in the last 3 years.

Amazon.com--- gets you $150 rebate. I got a VX-7000 for free that way.

Not sure I'd consider a phone free when you get locked into a 2 year
contract with them...Should you decide you want to change carrier for
any reason...

It's only a 1 year at Amazon.com for most phones. You can certainly
purchase a new phone without contract, but you'll pay a lot for it.
Probably close to the full year with the cheapest plan. I guess the best
option for someone not wanting any type of contract is to purchase a
used phone.

Most of us don't mind the 1-year contract in order to get a good, new
phone for cheap. I agree that 2-years is too long. I would rather spend
an extra $30 up front to get a 1-year.

It's only a one-year contract--and the price is a lot better that you'd get
at a Verizon store for the same deal.
