Where to find potions in Pokemon Go and how to use them

If you are planning to fight battles in gyms, your pokemon are going to get injured and you will need to heal them with potions. So where do you find these items, and how do you go about healing your pokemon once they have been injured?

Step 1)Get potions through leveling up.
Every level after 5 will give you at least ten potions, the higher your level the stronger the potions you'll be awarded for leveling up. Regular potions will be awarded from level 5 to 9 and will restore 20 health to a pokemon. Level 10 to 14 will award super potions that restore 50 health to a pokemon. From level 15 to 24 you will be getting hyper potions for ever level up, which will restore a whopping 200 health to a pokemon. And finally, from level 25 all the way to max level of 40 you will be getting max potions, which will restore a pokemon's health to full, no matter what.

Step 2)Get potions from pokestops.
Relying only on the potions you get from leveling up would be tough, and you can't buy them in the in app store for coins either, so thankfully, there's another way to get them as well. Any time you visit a pokestop there will be a chance to receive some potions of any of the levels you currently have unlocked. If you plan on going out and contesting a few gyms, you might want to hit up those pokestops first and stock up on potions.

Step 3)How to use them.
Once your pokemon has been injured, you'll have to use the potion to heal them. Remember, if your pokemon has been knocked right out battling an enemy gym, then you won't be able to use a potion on them, but will have to revive them first. If they are concious but not fully healed then you can tap on the pokeball at the bottom of the main screen, go into your items menu, and select the potion you want to use. It will then display any of the pokemon in your current roster who are injured, and taping on them here will use the potion on them to heal them.
