Which gaming laptop?

I am looking at buying a gaming laptop and am stuck between 2. I'm unsure which is the better choice. Here are the links if any one could recommend the better deal. It mainly is coming down to the gpu and one is refurbished vs new.

Definitely get the one with 1060 (has better GPU + it's brand new). What's your max. budget btw? if you can shell out $100 more, you can get one with even better specs (with full 6GB version of GTX 1060 and i7 7700 HQ)

I was looking at spending 1000 at most but decided I could go a tad higher since it would upgrade the gpu out of the 1050 range but I don't know how comfortable I am jumping up another 100. Is it a large difference between the 3gb and 6gb that would make it foolish to purchase the 3gb?

The way I see it - you're buying a gaming laptop that you would expect it to serve for at least 2-4 years. I'm currently in the same situation as you and I've went with the 6GB just so it will last a little longer. What's $100 extra right now VS 2 years down the line when you're unable to run certain games smoothly.

I'm not tech savy, but logically speaking - double the amount of GRAM should make your games run smoother without any hiccups and will definitely last you longer.

Pull the trigger for a 6GRAM model and you will NOT be disappointed, not now not in 2-3 years AT LEAST.

Agreed. as the games are getting more complex and vram hungry, it's not hard to see 3gb version struggling with future titles @ high fidelity . As a one time investment, i would definitely recommend paying a bit more now and future proof it a bit better.

Good strong laptop - for your needs and budget I would highly recommend it as it will last you a few years easy.
As long as you don't care if it's "professional" looking - you will be good to go.

I've tried a few Acer Predators and they are great machines.

It really depends on your needs - are you using the laptop purely for gaming? If so, I'd go with the Acer just because it's designed as a gaming system which in turn means better cooling, has G-SYNC (no screen tearing) etc...

Personally, I myself went with an MSI just because it's good for both gaming as well as looks professional enough for my business needs.

In summary - Gaming Laptop: Acer Predator // Gaming+Business: Nitro
