Gosh darn it, there's no such thing as a "GT 840m" or a "GT 820m", and there never was such a thing. It's just "840M" or "820M".

You will get better performance in a laptop with a less powerful CPU, but a more powerful GPU compared to a laptop with a more powerful CPU, but a less powerful graphics core.

surely bro let me give u an example
If u have got heavily priced cpu and gpu is really low in cost than ur game gonna run at lowest setting or less than that
And if u gonna get heavily priced gpu and and cpu is not as costly as gpu then u mat raun game at high setting FOR SURE (depends on type of gpu)

This would be the best CPU/GPU/RAM Setup out of your 2 choices. Also, depending on your budget, I would highly recommend a Samsung SSD 850 EVO M.2 500GB. At $229.99, and 540MPS read and 520MPS write speeds, it is the perfect reliable budget SSD for the parts you are selecting. For a Budget Gaming Laptop, correct?
(Also, I don't get paid by Samsung to say that, I just crazy LOVE their SSDs. Seriously, I will stand by Samsung SSDs until I find a better brand. :))
