Which is better?

Could someone tell me, what would be better? The alienware 17 laptop for $1,399 but i can get it for around $1,100 or this build for the prices and performance?

A desktop will probably always be better because it can draw more power. The question is, how much are you going to move the computer around? Is being mobile worth losing performance to you?

well you should really also post laptop's specs for a direct comparison. however, even if the alienware has GTX 980M for a gpu will still remain behind in performance.not to mention the performance boost the desktop can obtain through overclocking. do you really need mobility? if not get desktop. if yes laptop is what you need.

p.s alienware are usually overpriced.!
