which is faster in conectivty phone hot spot or wifi modem for use on laptop

am deciding on using my phone hot spot on my laptop or buy a modem for heavy internet work. Please advice on speed, reliability of connection and all the pros and cons

The modem would do you better. At least with a good ISP. While a hotspot is good and all, the speeds would be less and would fluctuate way more. Not to mention that many carriers/service providers will slow your speed down on purpose if you go past a certain amount of usage. Computers use way more data that phones. Especially if you are gaming.
