HTS's are kind of crappy as usually everything is built into one, and a lot of times, trying to get surround out of them from say the TV is hard as they are mostly made for surround from the built in dvd/bluray. In addition, the speakers are usually crappy. They are also usually limited to 1 or 2 inputs, a far cry from what is needed with all the devices today.

The other issue is not all TV's are created the same, with the same output and input capabilities. Is it a smart TV? Do you need to pass audio back from the TV? Are they trying to hook up 6 different HDMI devices at once? Does the TV support ARC? Does it only have optical out?

Almost every situation needs a unique solution, and every customer would have a different...

Strongly recommend building your own and not one of those HT in a box deals you find a Best Buy.

Frankly just a receiver and two bookshelf speakers are worlds better than any built in TV speakers.
