Which laptop is better? The ASUS G73JW-XA1 Republic of Gamers or the Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q885? My interests are in entertainment, particularly gaming, and I am a student so things like Microsoft Office should also be able to run smoothly. My main interest, though, is a smooth gaming experience. Portability and battery life would also be nice, and the cheaper one is obviously a lot more desirable as long as not too much is sacrificed. I do not really care about the size of the hard drives, they are both big enough for my needs.
The specs:
ASUS G73JW-XA1 ROG: $1,449
Intel i7-740QM
8GB RAM DDR3 1333MHz
Nvidia GTX 460 M 1.5 GB GDDR5
750 GB HDD 7200RPM
Super Multi DVD drive
1 USB 3.0 port, 3 USB 2.0 ports
17.3 inch full HD (1920 x 1080) LED
Windows 7 Home Premium
8 pounds
Altec Lansing Speakers
Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q885: $979
Intel i5-450M
500GB Serial ATA 7200RPM
18.4 inch HD TruBite display (1680 x 945)
4GB RAM DDR3
Nvidia GeForce GTS 360M 1 GB GDDR5
Super Multi DVD drive
4 USB 2.0 ports
Windows 7 Home Premium
9.7 pounds
Harman Kardon speakers
Extra Toshiba software; quite useful
longer battery life
they both look cool, so looks don’t matter. Also, if you know of any other laptops under 1500 which are good for gaming, I would appreciate if you could tell me.
Thanks!
