Hello everyone,

I am currently in UK and I'm having trouble choosing one of these laptops. The usage my laptop is intended for, is CAD/3D modelling, rendering, engineering software and mostly rare rather than casual gaming.Mobility is not an issue so I rejected all i7 4***U cpus. I would rather buy a desktop with these features but I'll probably be moving next year. So after intense research I ended up with these models for which I've been given discount:

For 650 pounds:

For 700 pounds:

I previously owned Toshiba and HP laptops, all were good, however I've heard good words about ASUS hardware but not for their customer support.I was advised to choose a Dell instead but all the new models have ultra low voltage cores. Computational efficiency is critical for me.

Any advise here would be helpfull!

Thank you guys. I believe it's quite clear. However I was also made one more discount and I need your opinion again, as this is a closer call.

For 700 pounds:

For 740 pounds:

My only problem with these laptops is that they have touchscreens and are glossy. But I couldn't find any laptop at these prices which has the same specs and is matte!

Okay, it's a little more complicated, but this is what I would do. That second laptop you listed is actually fantastic. It's incredibly high quality, has great specs, and ASUS is a very, very reliable manufacturer. Personally my favorite. However, one of the normal key features of the N550JK sold in the US is the beautiful 15.6" 1920x1080 IPS touch display that comes with it.

I would get the second option you linked, and then find a replacement display for the model with the 1080p IPS display, and install it yourself. It's really not that difficult. Just requires minor dis-assembly. I found one that should be compatible here.
