Which laptop to have?

Hello

i'm new here in tom's hardware 😀
but would like to ask for an advice, what's a good laptop brand to choose in terms of reliability (doesn't get broke easily, long life span/service life) i hear Asus,Toshiba, and Lenovo is good? in terms of reliability.

is there good models from this brands ?
Budget: $1000
Usage: for school (Programming,video editing(a little of it))
a little gaming (Elsword online)

i think an i7 core is enough for this one?

so far i get an idea of Asus K55VJ
