I have a site of small stories and quotes. I want to know that which media is best for me to generate traffic for it.

In general, its better to use social media such as facebook, twitter, google + to generate traffics whatever content you have in your blog. Try to join communities or groups that discussed same thing as your content. Post something and sublink your domain.

Yeah as orionautics said you can drive traffic by participating in social media communities. Google+, Facebook, twitter stands in top 3 places. People are now very interactive in these social media. You can eve n create your own page in Facebook and share that page in other medium to drive traffic.
