Which offer is more worth it?

Hi everyone! I need to know if a 236.4999 USD Difference Is worth a bigger by 140gb HDD and a bigger by 2gb DDR3 Ram.


Sorry for my unclear question. I will give an example.
I will state two offers for an Acer Aspire 4750G, which differs in price and abit of hardware.

1) At 944.422934 USD,

I just want to know, based on the sizes of the HDD and the amount of RAM in each offer, is it still more worth it to get the Offers for No.2(From adifferent seller from No. 3 in case he declines last minute) and No.3 and upgrade them individually or to get No. 1(From a shop) as the best offer still? I woud go for the first one at any rate - the 4GB of RAM are just invaluable as 2GB is going to slow your machine down a lot. As for the HDD, it's up to you and your needs - some people need terabytes of storage while some others don't use as much. If you need that storage then go for it.

How much will it cost you to buy the RAM? Installing it is easy.
Where I am I could get 2GB of DDR3 1333 SoDIMM (204pin) RAM for $25 and 4GB for $45.
Price difference for 640/500 7200rpm HDD is about $20.

#1 vs #2 is the LCD screen resolution same? 1366x768 or 1920x1080?

If only diff is 500 gig vs 640 gig and 2 gig vs 4 gig then option two is more cost effective
For option two you will need to buy 4 gigs of ram not 2. Reason it has two memorry slots and is most likely populated with 2 x 1 gig modules, to go to 4 gigs you will need 2 x 2 gig modules. You need to check on price as it sounds like you are not US - US price for laptop DDR3 memory is 40 -> 60 dollars for 4 gigs of ram.

Have you verified other factors (are the laptops identical except for HHD and Ram). How about external ports, ie do they both have the (a) same USB ports (usb2 or 3) - USB3 is a big Plus. (b) hdmi out, (c) esata out.

PS bear in mind. Acers have one of the lowest reliability ratings.

Yea screen resolutions are the same.
Ive realized it was more worth it to buy the cheaper one, and upgrade on my own. Saving me a few bucks

Yeah I know lowest reliability. Is HP Better?
I realize that getting the cheaper option will save me a few bucks. Upgrades are cheaper than to buy option 1.

And buying ram should be cheaper in singapore as I have compared Ram prices from crucial.com and newegg.com to singapore shops. They are cheaper here. No idea why always.

Only thing I see bad on specs is that the HP has 4 USB2 and no USB 3 which is surprising maybe I missed it. For me that would be a deal breaker - But you show reverify that it does not have USB3

Also, but this is my perference - No 2nd HDD bay

Thanks again. HDD is not a problem I have a 1TB external storage, and 500GB should be enough. There are 2 USB3.0 ports. I hope HP Pavilion laptops do not spoil that easily !!! Gotta depend on luck here then. Maybe the newer laptops from HP might have better reliability. Nevertheless, its a MAYBE.

And the laptop is actually new and not built yet in my country. Build date on HP Us store = 28 March 2011
gotta wait a month more to get it!!
