Which soundcard for the hd598?

Right now it's a toss up between the creative zxr and the asus stx.

i know the amplifier on the z is a bit too powerful for the hd598 and you will be needing windows volume set pretty low to run it at comfortable volume levels. the same might be true for the stx but i havent heard thus firsthand.

the xonar dx has the same dac as the stx (just not a powerful amp.. a more regular power output amp) for the same price as the z... so perhaps that is the best choice if you dont want to run on low windows volume.

your choice... neither are bad choices.
